Vulnerability in Eval(‘$some=1;’); Code for WordPress Auto-Cure
A new virus has been detected by our Security Malware Scanner on one of our client’s websites. So, using this file we created a malicious code signature and added it to the Security Malware Scanner.

So, from this moment this virus will be recognized and auto-cured on all the websites, protected by our Website Security plugin.

What is a signature

A Signature is a specific pattern that allows cybersecurity technologies to recognize malicious threats such as SQL injections, malware etc.
There are different types of signatures in our Security plugin, including parts of malicious php/js/html code, entire files, and WAF (Web Application Firewall) rules.

How it works

In other words, the Signature is a kind of mold of the file, the scanner will create a mold of each file from your website (we work only with MD5 cache of files) and compare it with the signature mold (MD5 cache as well). And if it finds a match – the file will be marked as Critical. If the Cure malware option is enabled then automatic treatment is performed.

In order to enable the Cure malware option you should go to your WordPress Dashboard → Plugins → Security by CleanTalk → General Settings. You will find the option in the Malware Scanner part.

CleanTalk Anti-Spam with White Label Mode

The CleanTalk Anti-Spam White label mode was made to make usage of the service for hosting more comfortable as well as it virtually eliminates the interaction between Cleantalk and hosting clients. This option is available only for WordPress MultiSite.

It also allows changing logos, links to your own. Your clients don’t need to get an access key, and Anti-Spam logs and statistics will be available in the plugin settings (inside the admin panel). The Plugin has the option to remove any mentions of CleanTalk in the backend and frontend of your website by using the White Label option.

And here’s the guide, that will help you use it. To enable this option, please, do the following:

1. Enter the plugin settings via your main WPMS site → Admin Dashboard → Plugins → Anti-Spam by CleanTalk → Settings.

2. Choose mode Mutual Account, Individual Access Keys

3. To activate the Mutual Account, Individual Access Keys mode, copy the Hoster API Key from your CleanTalk Dashboard and save it in the Anti-Spam plugin settings.

4. Enable the White Label mode and enter your own plugin name.

5. Log in to your website backend or refresh the page if you are already logged in.

You will see that menus Plugins and Settings now have the plugin name you entered in the special field instead of Anti-Spam by CleanTalk.
